Park Trammell was born in Macon County, Alabama, on April 9, 1876. His family moved to Florida when he was an infant, and he was raised in Polk County near Lakeland. Albert W. Gilchrist was born in Greenwood, South Carolina on January 15, 1858, the son of General William E. and Rhoda Elizabeth (Waller) Gilchrist. After attending Carolina Military Institute and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, he became a Brigadier General in the Florida militia. Born in 1884 at Plainfield (Marion County, Florida), John Wellborn Martin became Florida's 24th governor in 1925.
